The 10th annual
DC Travel & Adventure Show wrapped up with a bang, courtesy of special appearances by
Samantha Brown,
Andrew McCarthy and
Rick Steves amidst another steady stream of prospective travelers at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center today. Day 2 seemed to be even
busier than Saturday, as locals and tourists alike took advantage of a second straight Spring-like day weather-wise. Evidently, Mother Nature likes to travel.
Brown took center stage (literally) at the Travel Channel Theater to discuss "How to Travel Better" with a standing-room only audience; and it didn't take long to fall in love with her. Seriously, how cute
is she? The host of Travel Channel's The Trip: 2014 also took questions (Bucket List update: she still hasn't been to Africa or India) and signed autographs after. Ditto for McCarthy, who politely answered countless questions about
Pretty in Pink,
St. Elmo's Fire and
Weekend at Bernie's. Seems DC
loves its movie stars, even/especially ones from the 80's and 90's. They also love travel; and I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store for us.
