Coconut Rice and Mango Parfait

ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen is introducing a brand-new menu item, and the restaurant’s first-ever dessert, on Wednesday, January 29: Coconut Rice and Mango Parfait. The vegan, gluten- and GMO-free dessert is a creamy, salty-sweet end to the meal in just a few small bites and helps temper the heat for those who like their ShopHouse cuisine extra-spicy. The Coconut Rice and Mango Parfait offers a bright finish to any ShopHouse meal, while also satisfying a nagging mid-afternoon sweet tooth—and all for $1.50 at ShopHouse’s Georgetown, Dupont Circle, and Bethesda locations.

“The coconut rice and mango parfait is the perfect complement to the bold spices of our food,” says Tim Wildin, brand director for ShopHouse. “The dessert is traditionally served in Thailand at the end of the meal or as a quick afternoon snack.” Made from a combination of Jasmine rice, creamy coconut milk, pureed mango, salt and sugar, the dessert is finished with sesame seeds and toasted coconut flakes, and served chilled.
