Burger King BBQ Rib Sandwich Review

BBQ Rib Sandwich

You have to hand it to Burger King... they're not afraid to try something new. In their never-ending battle with fast food giant McDonald's, BK has come up with yet another flurry of new items. For burger lovers, there's the Big King; and for the budget conscious... the BBQ Rib Sandwich ($1) I tried the latter, plain.

Perhaps I jumped the gun on plain: I missed out on freshly cut onions, crisp pickles, and a sweet and spicy BBQ Sauce. I was worried about getting an avalanche of lettuce or mayo; and failed to ask the cashier what was on it. That's a shame, b/c a BBQ Rib Sandwich without BBQ is... boring (and dry.) I suppose that's one of the risks of ordering blind.

To my surprise, the boneless rib patty was pretty flavorful on its own. BK's toasted sesame bun remains one of the best in the business, and I'll be sure to try it again with all the trimmings. For a buck, it's a great addition to BK's ever changing (evolving?) menu. Check back soon for my updated complete review.
