Strathmore Presents Luis Bravo's Forever Tango

From our friends at the Strathmore...

Celebrated Dance Company Brings Their Passionate Broadway Production of Tango to Strathmore

Fresh from the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway, the sizzling, Tony-nominated Luis Bravo’s Forever Tango traces the brilliantly-hued history of tango with an all-Argentine cast of 14 dancers and an 11-piece orchestra in the Music Center at Strathmore on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 8 p.m. In addition to New York, Forever Tango has mesmerized audiences on TV’s “Dancing with the Stars” and on stages around the globe, in what the Daily News says is “An evening of sheer pleasure… sensual, elegant, dazzling!” and what Entertainment Today called a “Super, sexy, steamy show!” For more information or to purchase tickets, call (301) 581-5100 or visit www.strathmore.org.

Through dance, traditional and original musical compositions, and inventive, dramatic vignettes, this highly theatrical production follows the birth of tango in turn-of-the-century Buenos Aires bordellos to its acceptance into high society, and growth as a cultural touchstone in Latin America. The original Forever Tango took San Francisco by storm in 1994, where it played an unprecedented 92 weeks. In 1997, the show played its first of three engagements on Broadway, where it earned rave reviews and became the longest-running tango show in Broadway history.
