The World's End Gets Early Showings

From our friends at Focus Features...

Tickets are now on sale for marathon back-to-back-to-back showings of all three movies in the fan favorite “Three Flavours: Cornetto” Trilogy of comedies. Focus Features has booked Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and the new The World’s End into over 150 participating theaters for Thursday night, August 22nd, in advance of the company’s nationwide release the following day of The World’s End.

Among the participating theater chains are Alamo Drafthouse, AMC Theatres, ArcLight Cinemas, Celebration Cinemas, Cinemark Theatres, Kerasotes ShowPlace ICON Theatres, Regal Theatres, and Wehrenberg Theatres. Moviegoers wishing to purchase tickets, or seeking to confirm theaters and showtimes, can access http://www.focusfeatures.com/article/cornetto_screenings?film=the_worlds_end. The site will be updated over the next two weeks as additional venues and showings are confirmed.

A signature brew of camaraderie, knockabout humor, excessive quaffing, questionable life choices, hand-to-hand combat, and explosive surprises, The World’s End reteams director Edgar Wright with actors Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, following their hits Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz (2007). Shaun of the Dead won, among other awards, the British Independent Film Award for Best Screenplay; Hot Fuzz won, among other awards, the Empire Award for Best Comedy. All three movies were produced by Working Title Films and Big Talk Pictures, and all three were scripted by Mr. Wright and Mr. Pegg.

The movies, all MPAA-rated “R,” are known as the “Three Flavours: Cornetto” trilogy because each features a cameo by Cornetto ice cream.  Focus Features and Focus Features International (www.focusfeatures.com) comprise a singular global company.
