September Sizzles at Wolf Trap

ZZ Top rocks the house on September 11th

Summer's almost over, but Wolf Trap has no intention of going out with a whimper. Rather, try a bang! The beautiful Filene Center plays host to a few choice events next month, including the much-anticipated Wolf Trap Ball on Saturday, the 21st.
September kicks off with a special improv-rock performance from STS9 and Umphrey's McGee on Sunday, the 1st. Tickets are $40 in-house ($35 on the lawn.) Also playing that evening, the electronic duo Up Until Now.

Things run quiet until Friday night, when Wolf Trap presents The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring in HD across several huge screens in-house and on the lawn. The film will be combined with a live performance of Howard Shore's award-winning score featuring the City Choir of Washington and conductor Erik Ochsner. Both Friday and Saturday's shows kick off at 7:30 and range in price between $25 (lawn) and $58 for Box and Orchestra seats.

Next up, two incredible shows by Marc Anthony on Tuesday, September 10th and ZZ Top on Wednesday the 11th. Tickets to see Anthony start at $45 (for lawn seats) and up to $125 for Front Orchestra. Box seats cost $100 with Loge seats available for just $85. Comparatively speaking, tickets for ZZ Top are an absolute steal, going for just $45 in-house and $30 on the lawn. "Gimme All Your Lovin'" for 30 bucks? Done!

The annual Wolf Trap Ball takes place on Saturday, the 21st at 7:00 PM. Held in partnership with the Embassy of France, the evening is sure to be a dazzler. Click here to see sponsorship and ticket information.

The month's festivities wrap up on Saturday, the 28th with Wolf Trap's Fall Fest: The Barn Party. The annual fundraiser for young professionals will feature food truck specials, live music, an open bar and a silent auction to benefit Wolf Trap's arts and education programs. Registration is $50 for Club 66 members and $66 for non-members.
