Pinstripes Signs Lease with The Shops at Georgetown Park, and Plans a Fall 2013 Opening

Pinstripes, Inc. today announced it has signed a lease with The Shops at Georgetown Park with the intent to begin construction on the interior and exterior build- out in July. Located on Wisconsin Avenue and overlooking the historic C&O Georgetown Canal, Pinstripes will occupy 34,000 square feet of combined space on the first and second floors and is anticipating a November 2013 opening.

This will be the fifth location for Pinstripes (with other current locations in Northbrook, South Barrington and Oak Brook, Illinois and Edina, Minnesota), and its sixth location will open in Overland Park, Kansas in May 2014. Pinstripes offers a unique dining and entertainment experience featuring Italian and American cuisine, combined with bowling and bocce. The Georgetown location will include fourteen bowling lanes, six bocce courts, a bistro and wine cellar, outdoor patios and event space accommodating 20 to 600 people.

“The Shops at Georgetown Park is a first-class development well-suited for our sophisticated entertainment venue,” said Dale Schwartz, Pinstripes Founder/CEO. “We look forward to introducing ‘strikingly good food and fun’ to the Georgetown and surrounding communities.”

“We enthusiastically welcome Pinstripes to the Georgetown neighborhood,” said Bill Starrels, ANC2E Commissioner. “We are very pleased about Georgetown being the first expansion location for Pinstripes on the east coast, and we look forward to the opening in the very near future.”

Pinstripes will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, and is currently taking reservations for private events and parties. In celebration of its opening, Pinstripes is sponsoring a Grand Opening Community Art Contest, with prizes for various age groups, and much of the artwork featured in the venue will be by local artists or children. For more information about the art contest, please contact Sandie Montgomery, Pinstripes Event Director at 630/400-3960.

“We are delighted to welcome Pinstripes.” said Mitchell Schear, President of Vornado/Charles E. Smith. “We could not have asked for a better entertainment partner to complement our redevelopment vision and the great vibrancy of the Georgetown neighborhood.”

Anchored by Anthropologie, Dean & DeLuca, a new J. Crew, a new H&M and other quality retailers and restaurants, The Shops at Georgetown Park is a pedestrian-friendly, urban-style three-level development that encompasses 250,000 square feet on the southwest corner of Wisconsin and M. Streets, and along the beautiful C&O canal. The redevelopment also features a newly renovated and re- opened 700-car parking garage.
