The National Gallery of Art holds the city's most beautiful collection of art; but the building itself ain't too shabby on its own... Case in point: The Gallery's majestic Rotunda (on the main floor of the West Building.) December marks the best time to visit the Rotunda, which is now covered in holiday greenery, poinsettias and surrounded by lit Christmas trees. It's truly spectacular, and makes a great photo op.
