DC Shot of the Day - Gravesite of President W.H. Taft

Call it a quirk, but I've always had a fascination with famous gravesites. Ditto for U.S. Presidents. Did you know that three former Presidents are buried in the DC area? The tomb of Woodrow Wilson, our 28th President is located inside the Washington National Cathedral. President John F. Kennedy was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery; but he's not the only President buried there. The gravesite of William Howard Taft, who coincidentally preceded Wilson (as our 27th President) is also located in Arlington.

Taft has the rare distinction of serving as both President and later Chief Justice of the United States. He was also the largest President in history, but managed to shed 80 pounds upon leaving office.

Arlington Nation Cemetery is open every day (including Christmas.) It opens daily at 8 AM and closes at 7 PM (April-September) and 5 PM (October-March.) Click here for directions.
