@A24’s Marty Supreme is exhausting to watch… in a good great way. Led by its star @RealChalamet, the film races to & fro with reckless abandon, consistently building on Marty’s admission that, “Everything in my life’s falling apart, but I’m gonna figure it out.” Of course he does (in manic fashion) but not without a series of personal hiccups that would keep most men down. But not Marty. Chalamet is terrific: In fact, I can’t imagine anyone else playing the part. That’s high praise, given the cookie cutter approach to acting that plagues Hollywood nowadays. Loads of fun, and original to boot 🥾.
Grade: A (One of 2025’s best)
