#Ballston, and I can see why it’s so busy. Standard-size $4 doughnuts 🍩 are bigger than most, flaky inside and covered in delicious frostings (Chocolate & Maple 🍁.) They were sold-out of my first few choices, including the Cherry Blossom Doughnut ☹️ but it’s hard to complain about 2 really good staple choices
B for both. On the other hand, their $4.20 Cherry 🍒 Vanilla Bomb 💣 failed to impress, despite a generous Bavarian cream filling. Trouble is, its sourdough interior is stiff as a board and the cherry covering near-impossible to taste. Perhaps it’s the word “bomb” that promoted optimism, but color me disappointed instead
D-. Overall, it’s hard to ignore the lively atmosphere & well-made standards.
Grade: B (A solid B despite the bomb)
