| The Cheesecake Factory bids adieu to Friendship Heights |
Almost 35 years is an awfully good run in the restaurant business, but all good things (seemingly) must come to an end. Indeed, that's the case with the Cheesecake Factory at Chevy Chase Pavilion. It closes shop on January 24th, leaving behind a myriad of great memories for yours truly, and yet another glaring hole in Friendship Heights. Nearby Maggiano's Little Italy still remains (for how long, we wonder?) but nothing compares to the colossal menu at Cheesecake Factory. It literally had something for everyone. I had countless meals there, and will miss the place dearly. You can still get your fix at their Clarendon, Montgomery Mall and Tysons Corner locations, as well as downtown DC at 1426 H Street, NW near the White House, but it just won't be the same without Friendship Heights.
