| Jeremy Allen White stars in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere |
Home Sweet Home
IMDb Plot: Bruce Springsteen's journey crafting his 1982 album Nebraska, which emerged as he recorded Born in the USA with the E Street Band. Based on Warren Zanes' book. Directed by Scott Cooper.
I was never a big fan of @springsteen, but I understand his appeal. Trouble is, his life (at least what we see in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere @20thcentury) isn’t necessarily the stuff of legend, yet alone a biopic. This Bruce is low-key, modest and somber. It’s accurate too, but (accordingly) dull, and “definitely not Hungry Heart.” Kudos to Jeremy Allen White for singing, but I’d trade it all for more/some excitement.
Grade: D
