Please don’t blame Denzel Washington for Spike Lee’s abysmal #Highest2Lowest. It’s yet another example of someone (Lee) “staying around too long.” This listless melodrama about money, morals & music misses the boat on so many levels, I’m amazed anyone has anything positive to say about it. A$AP Rocky is @RazzieAwards awful, surpassed by a trio of absurd NYPD detectives 🕵️ including the Mayhem commercial guy (WTF?) and one of the most grating, ill-matched soundtracks ever made. Denzel gets a pass (and then some) but Lee & company get their well-deserved (Grade:) F.
Grade: F (Severe, I know, but expectations were high.)
