Carvings Food Review II

Hamburger + Fries at Carvings

Carvings has been feeding hungry collegians in & about George Washington University for 15 years; so it's about time this (former) college man tried it (again.) Note to self: College food ain't cheap. A burger & fries (no drink) runs you $13 + tax, and takes 16 minutes to prepare (even when it's not crowded.) It's a lot cleaner than the college coffee shops of yesteryear, but is the food worth the trip? Let's find out.

Food: The burger (angus beef) was cooked to f*** (literally.) No excuse, and it's already small to begin with. They also forgot my onions, and didn't include ketchup (none with the condiments/napkin area.) At least the bun was toasted. The fries, on the other hand, were clean, crispy and hot. Tasty too, which is something to build on. Give the fries a solid B, and the burger a D for disappointing.

Atmosphere: Spacious and clean with a long table & a dozen seats by the window. Unfortunately, the seat of my chair was broken/not even attached, but luckily I noticed before trying to sit on it.

Inside Carvings

Service: Pleasant cashier. 16 minutes is a bit of a wait; but it takes longer to burn a burger, right?

On the Radio
... "Hearts on Fire" by Illenium, Dabin & Lights, "Wolves" by Selena Gomez & Marshmello, and "Steal My Kisses" by Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals.

What's the Verdict? Carvings sells breakfast, so I suppose it's worth a second try. Otherwise, I can't imagine returning for lunch or dinner.

GradeC (Just barely.)
