Trilogy at Lake Frederick’s Region’s 117 Offers Fall Menu

Comfort food using locally sourced ingredients in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley

Region’s 117, Northern Virginia’s award-winning farm-to-table restaurant has unveiled its new fall menu, highlighting comfort food made from locally sourced ingredients. Nestled in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley at Trilogy at Lake Frederick,  a 55+ resort in Northern Virginia just 90 minutes from Washington, DC, the restaurant offers unparalleled views of the changing of the leaves, giving homeowners, area residents and out of town guests an unforgettable autumn experience.

“We wanted our menu to be like the beautiful fall foliage you can see as you eat: familiar but also different each year,” said Brian Whitson, executive chef at Region’s. “Our restaurant is built around the idea that comfort food can be innovative while supporting regional farms at the same time.”

The menu, which changes seasonally, now includes fall favorites such as the Region’s pot roast made with buttermilk and ricotta brown butter gnocchi, sweet peas and wild mushrooms; Southern fried buttermilk chicken with stone ground white cheddar grits, red eye gravy, smoked tasso and caramelized Vidalia onions; and croissant bread pudding.

Recognized by a nationwide survey through Open Table as one of the best brunch spots and best dining views in the country, Region’s has views of the picturesque 117-acre Lake Frederick and the surrounding Shenandoah Valley. Located on site at Trilogy at Lake Frederick, an exclusive 55-plus resort-caliber community, the restaurant also offers a wide selection of white and red wines from wineries ranging from Front Royal to Charlottesville.

Unlike other active-adult communities run by homeowners’ associations, Trilogy at Lake Frederick and its lifestyle programming are run by a resort management team to provide a top-quality experience.

Region’s 117 is located within the Shenandoah Lodge, a mixed-use facility designed to serve as the social center for the 55-plus Trilogy community. But the 36,000-square-foot building is also open to the public and can be rented for weddings and other events, with catering provided by Region’s team.

“It’s not hard to find inspiration for our fall menu when we look around us at the changing leaves and stop in at nearby farms to check on the fresh meat and produce,” added Whitson. “Our menu essentially writes itself.”
