John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum Movie Review

Keanu Reeves stars in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum

Man on the Run

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: In this third installment of the adrenaline-fueled action franchise, super-assassin John Wick (Keanu Reeves) returns with a $14 million price tag on his head and an army of bounty-hunting killers on his trail. After killing a member of the shadowy international assassin's guild, the High Table, John Wick is excommunicado, but the world's most ruthless hit men and women await his every turn. Co-stars Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Lance Reddick, Anjelica Huston, and Ian McShane. Directed by Chad Stahelski.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum might be the first movie to (simultaneously) jump the shark, and wildly entertain. It's overlong (131 minutes) and ridiculous at times (horseback, motorcycle fights) but the action is sooo creative and dazzling, it's impossible not to love it. Perhaps not as much as the first two chapters (better stories/villains) but just when you think you've seen it all, Wick & company manage to push the boundaries even further. Reeves is terrific (again) and I loved the additions of Berry, Dacascos and particularly Huston in a delicious cameo as the "Director." Action movie lovers rejoice!

Grade: B+
