Simon Lowe, an internationally recognized designer, hotelier and restaurateur, is pleased to announce the September anticipated opening of Scotts Restaurant, Bar & Cask Club, which will be located at 927 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20004. Scotts Restaurant & Bar will offer seating for 70 guests with an additional 40-seats at the bar. At this American brasserie, one can anticipate a collection of fresh salads, meats, house-made charcuterie and fresh seafood at both lunch and dinner service. Adjacent to Scotts is the 850-square-foot Cask Club, which will offer its own private entrance, complete with thumbprint recognition, and additional seating for 35 guests, making it an ideal place to meet over an exceptional drink.

Since opening his first London-based restaurant in 1984, Simon Lowe grew a luxury group of hotels and spas in England and the Caribbean that are known around the world. Lowe has designed and managed exceptional properties over the last 20 years, which include Fawsley Hall Hotel & Spa in Northamptonshire, The Park Hotel and Golf Club in Bath, and Grayshott Health Spa in Surrey. He received the award for Excellence and Innovation in London, sponsored by Knight Frank - Condé Nast for work in the hotel industry. “I’ve been looking to open a restaurant concept in the DC marketplace for some time now,” says Lowe. “My wife and I have a personal connection to the area as our daughters live on the East Coast. We built a home near Leesburg, Virginia a few years back because we wanted to be closer to them. I am hopeful that Scotts Restaurant & Bar and The Cask Club will be welcome additions to what is already a bustling dining scene in the nation’s capital.”

Scotts Cask Club is a private members’ club, which will showcase many of the world’s finest spirits and cask whiskeys, brandies, tequilas and rums from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society (www.smws.com), the world’s premier cask spirit supplier. Set in a private drawing room, one can enjoy an exclusive bar complete with the comforts of an elegant home in which to relax in a truly convivial atmosphere. Members also benefit from priority reservations at Scotts Restaurant & Bar and will be credited with a ten percent discount on all food in the restaurant and bar. The annual fee to join the Cask Club is $495 per year, with special rates for those under 30, as well as out-of-town guests. Membership includes a semi-annual newsletter with information and tips from the local cognoscenti on the latest trends, as well as up-to-date offers on the Society’s cask offerings. Additionally, Scotts Cask Club may be booked for private functions daily, from 12 PM to 4 PM. For more information on membership please visit membership@thecaskclubs.com.

Lowe designed the layout for both concepts, and worked with his architects, HapstakDemetriou+, to create the smart modern British décor. The 3,500-square foot Scotts Restaurant & Bar offers a 70-seat dining room and 45-seat Long Bar, which will feature traditional and innovative cocktails and a collection of malt whiskeys and other fine liquors. The design spans multiple historic facades that quietly influence the interior details through use of moldings and trims, yet becomes the perfect harmonized backdrop to stylish, contemporary finishes, furnishings, and fixtures. A blend of textures, patterns, and colors set against a warm neutral backdrop is inviting and exciting to all, without being overwhelming, ostentatious, or overly trendy. The design scheme for the 35-seat Cask Club includes a fireplace and library, creating a cozy retreat for meeting and drinking in a private oasis.

Scotts Restaurant, Bar & Cask Club is located at 927 F Street, NW, in Washington, DC 20004. The restaurant is located three blocks from Metro Center Metro accessible on the Red, Orange, Blue and Silver lines as well as three blocks from Gallery Pl-Chinatown Metro accessible on the green, red and yellow lines.  Scotts Restaurant & Bar will serve daily, from 12 PM to 10:30 PM, while Scotts Cask Club will serve daily, from 5 PM to 11 PM.
