National Harbor Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Cherry Blossom Festival

Sakura Sunday Includes a Japanese Market, Foods, Music & Entertainment, Sake & Beer Garden and More

In celebration of National Harbor's 10th anniversary and the recently planted cherry trees along the waterfront, locations throughout National Harbor will hold a cherry blossom festival, Sakura Sunday. Festivities include traditional Japanese picnicking, a Japanese Market (located on American Way), Japanese inspired music and entertainment as well as a Sake & beer garden. Grace’s Mandarin will start out the day with a cooking segment on the waterfront Plaza Stage (150 National Plaza.)

Performers at the event include Kanadete sourou, a Japanese rock band that sings original songs based on Japanese folk tales, and D.A.K. Group, an entertainment group based out of Tokyo that performs Awa Odori, a dance performed at festivals throughout Japan.

Additional Info: In further celebration of the Cherry Blossom festival season, Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center will offer special cherry blossom spa treatments and Gaylord National Resort has special cocktail offerings through April 15. MGM National Harbor has a spectacular cherry blossom display in its Conservatory. AC Hotel will have special cocktail offerings through April 15 as well.
