Kazala, Largay Earn All-Tourney as Eagles Sweep Howard
Aleksandra Kazala finished with 22 kills and
Shannon Webb added 10 to lead
AU to a 26-24, 25-22, 25-18 sweep over crosstown rival
Howard in the American Volleyball Classic on Saturday.
The Eagles finished second with a 2-1 record in the four-team event and are now 7-6 overall on the season. The Bison are now 2-11 after losing each of their three matches over the two days.
Iowa finished its tournament with a three-set sweep of
Princeton Saturday to capture the tournament championship with a 3-0 record. The Tigers finished 1-2 in the tournament.
Claire Sheehan of Iowa earned Tournament MVP honors and was joined on the All-Tournament Team by teammates
Gabrielle Orr and
Taylor Louis. Kazala and
Kristen Largay of American were selected along with
Nnenna Ibe of Princeton and
Courtney Dalton of Howard.

Kazala's effort against Howard marked her sixth 20-kill match of the season. Webb's 10 kills were the second time she's hit double figures this year. Freshman
Olivia Wassner had 28 assists, Largay led the Eagles with 14 digs and
Cheyenne Orsi had five blocks.
