Logan Lucky Movie Review

Daniel Craig stars in Logan Lucky

Oceans 7-Eleven

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: Trying to reverse a family curse, brothers Jimmy (Channing Tatum) and Clyde Logan (Adam Driver) set out to execute an elaborate robbery during the legendary Coca-Cola 600 race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Directed by Steven Soderbergh.

Déjà vu... "A feeling that one has seen or heard something before." Logan Lucky (hate the title) is a literal poor man's version of Oceans Eleven (or Twelve or Thirteen) with lesser stars and zero glamour. Are we to believe Soderbergh missed something in his famed trilogy? If so, what was it? It's not a bad movie on its own (far from it) but it takes more than a few unflattering southern stereotypes to stand out on its own. Tatum & Driver make a fine pair, but it screams for a feminine touch (and an ounce or two of originality.)

Grade: C+
