On August 16th, National Rum Day, Guests Will Enjoy Cuba Libre’s Extensive Collection of Rums at Half Price, Exclusively During Happy Hour

August 16th is officially National Rum Day, and Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar is celebrating with a variety of specials. At Cuba Libre, rum is the celebrated spirit and National Rum Day provides the perfect opportunity to showcase its versatility and flavor. From August 1-31 during lunch, dinner and weekend brunch service, Cuba Libre will offer up two new curated rum flights: The Rum Classic, priced at $16 for three one-ounce pours of Bacardi Solera, Cuba Libre 15 year, and Cuba Libre 21 year and the Tour of the Dark Side “of Rum” Flight which features three one-ounce pours of Cruzan Black Strap, Coruba Dark Rum, Ron Miel, priced at $19. Additionally, on Wednesday, August 16th, guests will be able to enjoy Cuba Libre’s extensive collection of rums (including rum-based mixed drinks) at half price. This special offering will be available exclusively at the 50-seat bar/lounge during happy hour. Cuba Libre’s rum list showcases over 90 premium and flavored varieties from Guyana, Haiti, Nicaragua and Tortola. Rums are priced between $8 and $84 per shot.


WHEN: Rum flights will be available from August 1-31 during lunch, dinner and weekend brunch service. Lunch is served Monday through Friday, from 11:30 AM to 3 PM; dinner is served Sunday, from 4 PM to 9 PM; Monday through Wednesday, from 4 PM to 10 PM; Thursday through Saturday, from 4 PM to 11 PM. Brunch is available Saturday and Sunday, from 11:30 AM to 3 PM. Half price rums drinks will be available exclusively during happy hour, from 5 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, August 16th.

The Rum Classic Flight:
Hand-curated to showcase the flavors and complexity developed through the art of aging.

Bacardi Solera, Mexico:
A light bodied sipping rum that is aged up to 3 years in carefully selected oak casks. It contains citrusy aromas and flavors, with a warm vanilla finish.

Cuba Libre 15 Year, Guyana:
A blend of aged rums no younger than 15 years. Aroma of dark fruit, bittersweet chocolate, smoky roasted nuts, and light tobacco. Long finish with chocolate and peppery spice.

Cuba Libre 21 Year, Guyana:
A blend of rums that are aged for least 21 years. Mahogany color. Aroma of vanilla, oak, orange peel and dried apricot with flavors of brown sugar, oak, cinnamon and dried fruit. Complex and well-balanced.

Tour of the Dark Side "of Rum" Flight:
Tasting flight of dark rums for those that prefer flavors of molasses and cocoa.

Cruzan Black Strap, St Croix, US Virgin Islands:
Dark, Navy style rum. Strong molasses and maple syrup flavor with light undertones of licorice and black coffee. Faint notes of vanilla and cinnamon.

Coruba Dark Rum, Jamaica:
A take on the traditional dark Planter’s style rum. Full-flavored with a smooth finish. The flavor has hints of spice, molasses, cocoa, and caramel.

Ron Miel, Canary Islands, Spain:
Dark auburn in hue. Black tea, honey, dark molasses on the nose. Sweet with strong honey, black tea and traditional rum flavors.
