Wonder Woman Movie Review

Gal Gadot stars in Wonder Woman

No Man's Land

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: An Amazon princess (Gal Gadot) finds her idyllic life on an island occupied only by female warriors interrupted when a pilot (Chris Pine) crash-lands nearby. After rescuing him, she learns that World War I is engulfing the planet, and vows to use her superpowers to restore peace. Directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster.)

Gadot declares "I'm the man who can." Is she ever. The Israeli stunner leaps to the front of the superhero list in Wonder Woman, a 141-minute marathon that flashes A+ potential, but still falls short of expectations. Gadot is a marvel (pun intended) to behold; and if left to her own devices, a megastar in the making. Unfortunately, Jenkins keeps her (relatively) under wraps, in lieu of undeserving Captain America: The First Avenger rejects. The finale's a CGI-deluged mess (thanks for nothing, Zack Snyder) but Gadot and her fellow Amazons? Charismatic, gorgeous and powerful. Next time? Less dudes, more Gal!

Grade: B-
