Carmine's Easter Feast: Serves 6-8 People, Sunday, April 16

Head over to Carmine's, the family-style Italian eatery for an Easter feast that includes the traditional Italian Easter bread - complete with a hard-boiled egg inside. It's customary in the old country to serve a sweet, brioche-like round bread at dinner known as pane di pasquai (Easter bread.)

This symbolic circle of dough has a hard-boiled egg baked into its center and a cross of dough laid over the egg to represent life and faith.

"We want to help keep traditions alive," says chef Ford Barsi. "It's all about teaching the next generation about what Italians have been eating for hundreds of years."

Speckled with colorful sprinkles, the loaf is complimentary for anyone dining at Carmine's on Easter Sunday - but it's available only that day, so reservations are recommended.

In addition Carmine’s is serving roasted rack of lamb with an array of oven roasted vegetables (carrots, red potatoes, onions, zucchini, fennel, eggplant, yellow squash and Portobello mushrooms) - serves 6-8 people. Cost: $84.95 ($10.61 per person.)
