TAKODA Restaurant & Beer Garden Celebrates March Madness with A Cocktail Bracket Showdown

TAKODA, the contemporary American restaurant and rooftop beer garden located at 715 Florida Avenue, NW, will celebrate NCAA March Madness 2017 with a special cocktail bracket showdown. Hoop fans are encouraged to stop by TAKODA and watch the tournament on the restaurant’s two flat-screen TVs (the finals will be shown on a projector screen on the restaurants rooftop beer garden), while enjoying a selection of new cocktails created by the restaurants bartenders and management staff. Eight cocktails will be available the first week, March 6th through 12th, and the top four selling cocktails will advance to the next round. Four cocktails will be available March 13th through 19th, and the top two selling cocktails will advance to the championship round and will be served March 20th through 26th. The top selling cocktail from that week will then be placed on TAKODA's permanent cocktail list.

Cocktails available on TAKODA’s March Madness bracket will include the Cucumber Diablo with El Jimador, jalapeƱo and cucumber purée; The Katherine with Jack’s Hard Cider, Peychaud’s Bitters and sparkling wine; the Negroni Royale with El Jimador, Campari, sweet vermouth, grapefruit and sparkling wine; the Hemingway Daiquiri with Bacardi Silver, Luxardo, lime and grapefruit; the 30% Chance It’s Already Raining with High West bourbon, pomegranate and rosemary; The Conway Sour with Redemption White Rye, lemon and soda; the Bust Yo Bracket with Grand Marnier, limeade and beer oat, as well as the LMB with High West bourbon, Rauchbier syrup and bitters. All cocktails are priced at $12.   


TAKODA Restaurant & Beer Garden is located at 715 Florida Avenue, NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC, 20001, is home to a rooftop beer garden complete with island bar and operable windows allowing for year-round eating and drinking in a light-filled venue overlooking Florida Avenue. The restaurant is located two blocks from the Shaw-Howard Metro Station accessible on the Green and Yellow Lines. Dinner is served nightly, from 5 PM to 11 PM. The bar is open Monday through Thursday, from 5 PM to 12 AM; Friday, from 5 PM to 2 AM; Saturday, from 11 AM to 2 AM; Sunday, from 11 AM to 11 PM. A late-night menu is served Friday and Saturday, from 11 PM to 1 AM. Brunch is served Saturday and Sunday, from 11 AM to 3 PM.
