Keanu Reeves stars in John Wick: Chapter 2 |
Reflections of the Soul
Rotten Tomatoes Plot: In this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hitman John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins' guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world's deadliest killers. Directed by Chad Stahelski.
"John Wick is a man of focus, commitment and sheer fucking will." No wonder I love him (and John Wick: Chapter 2) so much. It's jam-packed with (incredible) violence, somehow eclipsing the original; and I wouldn't be surprised if it takes over for the comparatively watered-down Bourne film series. The kills are plentiful and without equal, with moments of levity in between (just enough to let you catch your breath.) Reeves is picture perfect as "death's very emissary," while doing battle with capable adversaries (Common, Ruby Rose and Riccardo Scamarcio) and henchmen alike. I can't wait for the next chapter.
