Madame Tussauds Reveals New Donald J. Trump Figure in Time for Inauguration Day
President Donald J. Trump receives an early Inauguration at Madame Tussauds Washington DC, New York, Orlando and London attractions
Madame Tussauds has released the first images of Donald J. Trump's completed presidential wax figure as attractions in Washington, DC, New York, Orlando and London welcome the new addition ahead of inauguration on Friday.
Dressed in a patriotic dark blue suit, red tie and Made in America flag lapel pin, the finished figure marks the end of a six-month long creative process involving a team of 20 skilled artists that worked around the clock to meet delivery deadlines.
Mr. Trump is the first president to have already had a famed Madame Tussauds wax figure. He conducted a detailed sitting for his previous figure at Trump Tower New York in 1997 where artists took hundreds of measurements and photographs. After the 2016 election results were in, the original measurements and photographs were referenced with updated research to create his new likeness. Achieving his iconic hairstyle took no less than five weeks with each hair individually inserted by hand.
"Mr. Trump was the most-searched person globally on Google in 2016 so the pressure was on to perfect his iconic features in time for inauguration," says Therese Alvich, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Washington DC.
"Creating the new U.S. President is a tradition that we look forward to every election cycle and we are proud to welcome such a lifelike figure to our attraction."
At Madame Tussauds Washington DC, Trump will stand tall in an immersive recreation of the famed White House Rose Garden - a new addition to the attraction's President's Gallery, the only place in the world where visitors can "meet" figures of all past presidents.
Born and raised in New York, Mr. Trump attended the Grand Opening of Madame Tussauds in his home-town in 2000 and will now return to the Times Square attraction in wax-form, joining other presidents, notables and influential figures in the World Leader's Gallery.
Visitors to Madame Tussauds Orlando and London attractions will find the new President located in updated White House Oval Office sets.
