Passengers Movie Review

Chris Pratt & Jennifer Lawrence (r) star in Passengers

Lost in Space

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt star in an exciting action-thriller about two passengers who are on a 120-year journey to another planet when their hibernation pods wake them 90 years too early. Jim and Aurora are forced to unravel the mystery behind the malfunction as the ship teeters on the brink of collapse, with the lives of thousands of passengers in jeopardy. Directed by Morten Tyldum.

Robot to Pratt, "You just spent 120 years in suspended hibernation." Now what? Technically, it's only 30 years, but even 116 minutes tends to drag on (forever) in Tyldum's over-cutesy sci-fi romance Passengers. Sci-fi romance... Sounds promising, right? Wrong. No one is going to mistake Lawrence & Pratt for Hepburn & Tracy, even on board "the ultimate geographical suicide." Speaking of (suicide) why spend so much money on a lavish set for less than half-a-dozen actors, some of whom appear on screen for only a minute or two? Money better spent on a half-decent story. Dumb idea. Dumber movie.
