Esencias Panameñas Celebrates Its One-Year Anniversary with A Festive Party on Saturday, July 23

Guests Can Anticipate Signature Sábados de Fritanga Dishes, Raffle Prizes, Live Music and More

Esencias PanameñasWashington’s only Panamanian restaurant which features authentic Panamanian cuisine with a Caribbean twist, located at 3322 Georgia Avenue, NW, will host a one-year anniversary party on Saturday, July 23rd. Fans of the restaurant are encouraged to stop between 11 AM to 11 PM to enjoy Chef/Owner Yadira Stamp’s Sábados De Fritanga, or Guilty Pleasure weekend menu, as well as live music and raffle prizes. Two Panamanian DJs will be performing. Earl International will be spinning tunes from 11 AM to 6 PM followed by DJ Rey Parker of 106.7 El Zol, who will be playing from 6 PM to 11 PM. 

Stamp's Sábados De Fritanga (or Guilty Pleasure menu) featuring dishes such as the Pa' Picá (for two) Esencias Panameñas sampler platter with ground corn fritters, white cheese, yuca balls, twice-fried green plantains, fried yuca, ground corn patties, fried chicken wingettes, and fried beef; Tortilla, fresh ground corn fritters with cheese, sauté sausage, or beef strips in gravy; Salchicha Guisada, sauté sausage with twice fried green plantain or yuca frita; Torrejitas de Bacalao, codfish cakes, and Tamal De Hoja, fresh ground corn stuffed with chicken or vegetables, olives, capers, peas, carrots, and wrapped in banana leaves. A la carte dishes range in price from $4 and $19 each. Guests will also be able to choose any three off the Guilty Pleasures menu for a discounted price of $7.16 (price excludes fish platters.) For the perfect pairing, guests can also enjoy happy hour drink specials all day which include $4 house red and white wine, $4 sangria, $5 Chichita Panameña, and a rotating selection of beer for $3.


Additionally, guests who make a $10 minimum purchase on Saturday, July 23rd will receive a complimentary bag of Panamanian goodies from Chef Stamp's childhood such as Mafa, twisted fried bread; Galleta Pascual De Maria, De Coco, y De Pasitas, three flavors of pascual cookies, maria, coconut, and raisins, Chicle Adams,Adams chewing gum; Osito bubble gum; Salaito, Chinese sour candy; Huevito de Leche, miniature candies shaped like an egg made from cooked condense milk in the can, Sugar Daddy caramel lollipop; Mary Jane peanut butter candy; 2 oz. Bottle Esencias Panameñas' House-Made Hot Sauce; 2-oz Pack of Cafe Duran, Panamanian coffee, and Pascual Menta, mint flavored candy. Gift bags are limited to one bag per table.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to ‘win big’ by participating in Esencias Panameñas anniversary raffle. Four drawings will be held throughout the day at 1 PM, 4 PM, 7 PM, and 10 PM. Raffles tickets will be given for every $10 that guests spend on food and drinks. Raffle prizes include a six-pack Cerveza Panama, a bottle of popular Panamanian dark rum, Ron Abuelo, a twice-fried green plantain maker, also known as a Tostonera, and a Mola, a traditional Panamanian panel of fabric. Guests must be present to win.
