Biscuit Jam DC Hits Ivy City Saturday August 6th

Mason Dixie Biscuit Company holds its first music, food and arts festival to commemorate its second year in business

2016 Biscuit Jam DC is a one day music, food, and arts festival produced by popular mobile restaurant and biscuit company Mason Dixie Biscuit Co. The family and dog friendly festival will take place in Ivy City at the Industrious Real Estate Warehouse located at 1900 Kendall Street, NE.  Sponsored by the Washington BladeDC Brau, LyftIndustrious Real Estate and Coldwell Banker, the full day of food and activities will bring DC-centric businesses together with the booming Ivy City business and residential community for a full day of live performances, shopping, eating, drinking, and playing.

Biscuit Jam features musical talents from local bands, including headliners Jonny Grave and The Bumper Jacksons, along with Justin Trawick and the Common GoodOh He DeadJahnel DaliyaBrian Farrow & What Got Over, and Ampersand Stringband. The outdoor stage will be flanked by food trucks such as the BBQ BusRed Hook Lobster, and Arepa Zone, and live graffiti art featuring artists from One Love Massive’s artist collective.


Additional event elements include a southern inspired, pop-up “camp site” by Derek Brown’s Southern Efficiency boasting cocktails based on their fictional adult whiskey camp called “Camp I Wanna Whiskey,” and noshes by Chef Evan Scarlatelli featuring southern style pastrami and kool-aid pickles. Ivy City Smokehouse will be activated with dollar oyster shucking and a full bar will be offered featuring cocktails from Ivy City’s One Eight Distilling and Jos. A. Magnus & Co. Distillery as well as southern favorite Jim Beam (white and apple) and of course beer from DC Brau. Guests can join the BicycleSpace DC ride from their Adams Morgan location to the festival in Ivy City where there will be plenty of bike racks for riders.

Vendors from Union Kitchen and Union Kitchen itself will also be featured at the festival as well as a pop up dog park, sponsored by Petco. Proceeds from Biscuit Jam will benefit the DC Arts and Humanities Education Collaborative - raising money for arts in DC public schools supporting DC's next generation of craftspeople.

Tickets to the festival range from $10 - $125. A $20 ticket gets you two drinks and a $125 ticket gets you unlimited drinks, front row stage access, and a gift bag full of goodies from many of the Biscuit Jam vendors, swag from Union Kitchen, free meals from Munchery, gifts from Jim Beam and much, much more.
