One year shy of its 25th anniversary, the
Giant National Capital Barbecue Battle celebrated a new sponsor (
Giant in,
Safeway out) with another perfect day of barbecue, giveaways and sunshine. Remember day one
last year? Rain, lots of rain. Mother Nature was clearly excited about Giant's involvement, and thousands of hungry attendees showed up in agreement. There was no shortage of activities and games (Giant's contests were particularly fun & generous) and the food... enough to stuff a world-class foodie like yours truly (hot dogs,
lots of hot dogs.) Missed it? Shame on you; but fear not, it's back on today... starting at 11 AM through 7:30 tonight. Admission is $15 at the door.
