Zoolander 2 Movie Review

Owen Wilson, Ben StillerPenélope Cruz (r) star in Zoolander 2

A Total Jack-Off

Rotten Tomatoes Plot: Ben Stiller returns both in front of and behind the camera for Zoolander 2, a comedy that finds the beloved model Derek Zoolander (Stiller) and his rival-turned-partner Hansel (Owen Wilson) facing a threat to their continued success.

The original Zoolander debuted less than three weeks after 9/11: For many (me especially) it provided a chance to laugh again (and often.) It was hilarious. Zoolander 2 isn't. It's an exercise in laziness and sequelitis, practically void of humor. Ben & Owen look the same (Will Ferrell too) but the magic & novelty are gone, replaced by a myriad of senseless cameos, orgies and "whore pasta." I laughed twice; and were it not for a couple of six-year-olds in the audience, you could have heard a pin drop. Ferrell warns, "Buyer beware," but sadly, I'd already forked over $11.52.
