Jardenea's Melrose Blossomtini |
From our friends at Jardenea Restaurant...
Jardenea, the farm-to-fork restaurant at Melrose Georgetown Hotel is offering a delicious cocktail in honor of the upcoming National Cherry Blossom Festival. Inspired by the gorgeous explosion of pale pink and white blossoms on the famous cherry trees, the Melrose Blossomtini is a contemporary twist on the classic cocktail featuring Gekkeikan Plum Wine, Lambic Cherry beer and Ginga Shizuku Sake.
The Melrose Blossomtini will be available on the spring cocktail menu for $12, March through April. Additionally, $1 from every cocktail sold will be donated to House of Ruth, an organization dedicated to helping women, children, and families in greatest need build safe, stable lives and achieve their highest potential.
Think you can do it better? Try the following recipe at home, then stop by Jardenea to compare. Win-win.
Ingredients:
• 2 ounces of Ginga Shizuku Sake
• ½ ounce of Gekkeikan Plum Wine
• One dash of lemon juice
• ½ ounce of egg whites
Top with Lambic Cherry beer
Garnish with one edible orchid flower and Peychaud's Bitters
Put all the ingredients in a mixing glass (except the beer and garnish) and shake really well, then pour in a chilled cocktail glass, add the beer and garnish and cheers!
