Ip Man 3 Movie Review

Donnie Yen returns in Ip Man 3

Still the Master

IMDb Plot: When a band of brutal gangsters led by a crooked property developer (Mike Tyson) make a play to take over the city, Master Ip (Donnie Yen) is forced to take a stand. Directed by Wilson Yip.

"Some thugs are causing trouble." Aren't they always? Unfortunately for them (including puppet master Tyson) Master Ip's on hand... the ultimate neutralizer, despite his age (52) and inability to turn a blind eye towards trouble. Ip Man 3 wraps up the trilogy in satisfying fashion, focusing equally on kicking ass and mending fences. His kid is a pain in the ass (oh, the crying) but Ip Man shows a rare combination of grace, patience and raw badassness, even while battling a still-scary "Iron Mike" in a three-minute-battle for the ages. Formulaic/predictable, but jam-packed with great action (and Yen.)
