5 Reasons to Choose the BCR Charity Wine for Your Holiday Meals

From our friends at the Boulder Crest Retreat...

Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness Benefits When People Choose the BCR Wine from Tackitt Family Vineyards

Americans love to drink wine, especially with their holiday meals. In fact, the Wine Institute reports that last year, wine consumption in the U.S. reached 893 million gallons, which equals around 2.8 gallons per resident. While many people are unsure which kind of wine to serve with their holiday meals, their choice may be easier to make if they know the purchase helps to provide support to a charity.

“It’s a great combination that people can enjoy a drink that they love, while at the same time help the veterans who have fought to keep our country free,” explains Ken Falke, chairman and founder of Boulder Crest Retreat (BCR.) “We are grateful to team up with Tackitt Family Vineyards to offer a great tasting charity wine that also supports a great cause.”

For those new to charity wines, here are 5 reasons to choose BCR cabernet sauvignon for your next holiday meal:

Support a great cause. Choosing BCR wine means that you will be supporting a cause and enjoying a great wine. All proceeds of the Boulder Crest Retreat wine from Tackitt Family Vineyards goes to help wounded and recovering combat veterans.

Conversation starter. Having a charity wine on your holiday table is a great way to get conversations started. People see the wine label, are interested in the cause that it supports, and it opens the door to a great discussion. This makes it even more enticing to take to a dinner party with you when you may not know the people very well who will be there. You have an instant ice breaker.

Make a statement. Having the BCR wine on your table makes a statement of your support. When it comes to the Boulder Crest Retreat charity wine, people will see and appreciate the fact that you are supporting our combat veterans.

Enjoy the taste. Boulder Crest Retreat wine delivers a great taste and puts the finishing touches on a special holiday or party meal. You get the great taste, and supporting a great cause at the same time.
Encourage others. Many people don’t like to purchase a wine if they haven’t tasted it before. When you serve BCR wine, you will be introducing it to others and inspiring them to make the purchase, thus increasing the support to this great cause.

“Our Boulder Crest Retreat charity wine not only tastes great, but we are proud of the fact that it gives back to the people who give us so much, our country’s veterans,” explains Leon Tackitt, owner of Tackitt Family Vineyards, located in Paso Robles, Calif. “Serving our charity wine, or giving it as a dinner party gift, is a win-win situation for everyone involved. Just makes you feel good knowing you have helped such a great cause.”

The Boulder Crest Retreat wine is a product of Tackitt Family Vineyards, owned by Leon Tackitt, a retired Naval Officer (EOD) and his wife, Cindy. The award-winning vineyard was started in 2007, and all proceeds from the BCR labeled wine go to help the combat veterans attending the Boulder Crest Retreat for Military and Veteran Wellness. The wine is currently available in 25 states, and online. The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon, which is paired nicely with pork, spicy Italian red sauce dishes, and barbecue. In the Virginia area, it is available at Total Wine & More, Billbacks, Cork & Fork, Cordial Fine Wine and Beer, Vino Market, Kroger, and others.
