Speculoos and Salted Caramel Stone at Plume |
It might be 80° outside (crazy, isn't it?) but eventually, fall is going to
have to appear. When it does, I suggest visiting
The Jefferson, Washington, DC to sample their new fall-inspired cocktail and dessert menu. I haven't tried it (yet) but the above-pictured
Speculoos and Salted Caramel Stone might be the best
looking dessert ever created. It's made with salted caramel custard,
speculoos froth and green apple marshmallow; and you can rest assured, I'll be writing about it (in tummy-pleasing detail) within the next few weeks. Just in case you're not as smitten as I am, there's more sweets to be had:

And that's not all. There's also a
fountain of new cocktails to keep you busy until the start of winter, including
Ichabod's Bane, advertised as "fall in a cup." Try these tasty ingredients on for size: Pumpkin-Infused Bulleit Bourbon, Egg Whites House Sours and Pumpkin Cordial Angostura Bitters, presented in a tall martini glass. See below for the full cocktails menu; and make sure to stop by
Quill, The Jefferson's upscale bar and lounge for unsurpassed surroundings.
