The 2015 Burger Battle Benefitting Brainfood Hosted on the Poste Patio

DC Chefs Battle for the Title of "Top Burger" on September 20th

On Sunday, September 20th, Burger Battle returns as Poste Moderne Brasserie hosts some of DC’s top chefs for a battle benefitting Brainfood, DC’s leading non-profit youth development organization. Participating chefs include: Chef Kyoo Eom of Poste Moderne Brasserie, Chef Matt Adler (the defending champion) of Osteria Morini, Chef Joe Palma of Bourbon Steak, Chef Dan Singhofen of Macon Bistro & Larder, Chef Matt Hagan of Firefly, Chef/Owner Matt Baker of Gravitas, Chef George Rodrigues of Tico, Chef Nick Wiseman of DGS and Chef Shannan Troncoso of Brookland's Finest.

Overseeing and judging the burger competition will be Chef Ris Lacoste of RIS and Chef Amy Brandwein of Centrolina. The event will be MCed by Scott Thuman of ABC7/WJLA. Ticket purchase includes a chance to try burgers from all chefs, specialty cocktails from three leading area bartenders and local beers from 3 Stars Brewing and DC Brau. In addition, for every ticket purchased, attendees will earn a chance to win a luxury box for 10 people at the Washington vs. Dallas game on December 7th. The box includes 10 tickets, 3 parking passes and food, a $6,000 value.

ABOUT BRAINFOOD:
Brainfood is a DC-based non-profit youth development organization that uses food as a tool to build life skills and promote healthy living. Local high school students participate in programs either twice a week after school or 4 days/week for five weeks during the summer. Activities include hands-on cooking classes, lectures, field trips and community service projects. Brainfood graduates are equipped with practical cooking skills, an introduction to the food industry, and leadership experience that prepares them to make a difference in their community.
