On Wednesday, September 30th, Billy Reid DC, located at 3211 M Street, NW, will be hosting an in-store event with Tie The Knot organization to celebrate the launch of their Fall collaboration. The event will reveal the signature bow tie designed by Billy himself for Tie The Knot's Fall 2015 collection. In addition to shopping, guests will enjoy seasonal drinks and food provided by Spike Gjerde of Woodberry Kitchen.
Tie The Knot is a non-profit organization founded by Modern Family star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita to advocate LGBTQ equality. The organization releases limited edition collections of neckwear and other accessories that each feature one bow tie designed by a celebrity guest designer. A portion of sales is donated to various foundations that support marriage equality, such as the Human Rights Campaign.
Reid's handmade, silk bow tie will feature a classic camo print design and will first be available for purchase at the event for $25 with $20 of every purchase donated back to Tie The Knot. Following the event, the bow tie will be available on thetiebar.com.
