Junior Ashlie Williams (#7) pleads her case

In the first set, two kills from Sinnette and a service ace by Higareda gave the Hoyas an early 4-2 lead, but George Mason responded with a 12-2 run to take a 14-6 lead and force a Georgetown timeout. A kill and service ace by Williams, along with two George Mason errors, pulled the Hoyas within two, 19-17, but that was as close as they would get as the Patriots closed the set on a 6-3 run to win by a 25-20 score.

GU continued to trail until an ace by Sinnette and kill by McKnight gave the Blue & Gray its first lead of the set, 15-14. The two teams were tied at 20 before the Patriots scored four-consecutive points. Kills from Sinnette and Speech were not enough as George Mason took the second set, 25-22.
