2015 AT&T Nation's Football Classic Official Events Schedule

Football, Tailgating, Debate and Parties Are All Part of the 2015 AT&T Nation's Football Classic

Events DC has composed a week’s worth of entertainment on and off the field, September 16-20

The AT&T Nation’s Football Classic showcasing historic adversaries, Howard University and Hampton University, live on ESPNU, promises tremendous action at RFK Stadium on Friday, September 18 - with a week’s worth of off the field activity to hype up the experience for all!

More than just a game, the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic is a celebration of the heritage, service, unity and tradition of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). This is showcased with the week’s ancillary events where the community is invited to participate in a variety of activities embracing the spirit and characteristics of the Classic.


Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 7:00 PM - Technoir: The Innovators Classic
Events DC has teamed up with Ghost Note to present Technoir 24, 24 hours dedicated to showcasing, funding and celebrating entrepreneurial innovation. Events culminate with The Innovators Classic on Wednesday, September 16 at popular downtown nightclub, Capitale (1301 K Street, NW), beginning at 7:00 PM. Drawing on the spirit of healthy rivalry that is at the heart of the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic, the Innovators Classic will feature a dynamic pitch competition, guest judges, food and drinks, and the company of some of the nation’s leading minds. Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 PM - AT&T Kickoff Rally
AT&T is set to provide attendees with another unforgettable, can’t miss moment at the AT&T Kickoff Rally. What has become the official start of the AT&T Nation’s Football Classic week of events, the pep rally has all the pageantry and high-profile performances to rival any HBCU homecoming celebration. Friday, September 18 at 1:00 PM - The Game Before the Game Student Debate
Prior to the evening’s football game, which will be broadcast live on ESPNU, the Hampton and Howard debate teams will square off on Friday at 1:00 PM, for The Game Before the Game Debate, at Cramton Auditorium on the campus of Howard University. This inspiring competition will showcase each school’s acclaimed academic programs, and tradition of developing exciting orators.

Friday, September 18 at 1:30 PM - HBCU College/Career Fair with CBCF
In coordination with the office of Congresswoman Alma Adams (D-NC), Events DC will host a HBCU College/Career Fair with Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. that will consist of a panel discussion by accomplished HBCU graduates from various industries. Open to both high school and HBCU students, attendees will be given the opportunity to see the full spectrum of possibilities that an HBCU education can provide. The panel discussion will be followed by an opportunity to visit with business leaders and University personnel.

Friday, September 18 beginning at 4:00 PM - Pepsi Fan Festival
It’s the countdown to kickoff and an opportunity for fans to meet up with friends, colleagues and fellow graduates at the Pepsi Fan Festival at the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds (Lot 8) beginning at 4:00 PM. The pre-game tailgate and ultimate HBCU reunion is free and open to the public, and will feature live music, games, food and much more. The 2015 artist(s) will be announced on NationsFootballClassic.com.

Saturday, September 19 from Noon until 7 PM - H Street Festival
The festivities continue over the weekend, on Saturday, at DC’s 10th annual H Street Festival. A celebration of the H Street NE corridor, a vibrant neighborhood led by residents, business owners and community leaders, the H Street Festival is one of the most popular festivals in Washington, DC. The event attracts tens of thousands of foodies, art aficionados, wine and beer connoisseurs and music lovers to one of the city’s fastest-growing and most exciting areas. Sunday, September 20 at 11:00 AM - Chapel Service
Sunday gets underway, naturally enough, with a Chapel Service at the Howard University Rankin Chapel, at 11:00 AM.

Sunday, September 20 at 11:00 AM - Hashtag Lunchbag
As a community service, students and alumni are invited to participate in #HashtagLunchBagDC, a charitable event held at Bar Louie in Gallery Place. Those who wish to participate pay a $10 donation to cover the cost of food, then help prepare and distribute lunches to those in need.
