iFork Product Review

The iFork

A Rise Above the Ordinary

Capsule Review: At first glance, the iFork looks like any other inexpensive plastic utensil; but look closer, and you'll find a remarkably simple yet sensible solution to setting your fork, knife or spoon down... without the risk of attracting germs and microbes. It's a tiny plastic rivet, which keeps the functional part of your flatware clear of any (probably dirty) surface. Smart, right? It's also dirt (pun intended) cheap... Just under 8 cents per piece for the disposable version. They also stack on top of each other; and are dishwasher safe (i.e. reusable!) Great for eating on the go (iSpoon + yogurt = genius) but probably not fancy enough for home. That's where iFork's Stainless Steel version rises to the occasion (yup, another pun.) Be warned however, they're not cheap (a 30-piece set costs a cool C-Note.) Still, can you think of a better conversation at your next dinner party?

Capsule Review

From our friends at iFork...

Sit down for lunch, stand up with the flu? Not if you use iFork - the intelligently designed new line of flatware! When it comes to dining, most of us would never dream of using a knowingly dirty utensil; however, this is exactly what is happening every day throughout restaurants, cafés, and even at home! When you place a utensil on a table or any other surface, that fork, spoon, or knife is probably picking up whatever was left behind, and that often means bacteria and viruses! Now, thanks to iFork, you can have utensils that never make actual contact with the surface below, keeping your fork clean and you free of harmful surface germs and bacteria! Keeping your surfaces clean is another advantage of iFork. Instead of placing a utensil that has been covered in food down on your table or kitchen surface, iFork keeps the mess off your countertops.

The iSpoon

At home, forget about wasting extra plates or napkins when you place your dish in the microwave and have nowhere to lay your utensils down. With iFork you can avoid wasting extra dishes or leaving a mess. Gone are the days of buttering your toast, only to search for a spare plate or extra napkin in order to keep grease off the counter. Now, thanks to the iFork line of utensils, you can keep your surfaces clean!

The iKnife

Surface germs are everywhere and include both viruses and bacteria. These germs are transmitted from respiratory droplets from sneezing and coughing, and thorough contact transmission when your hand or mouth comes in contact with a contaminated surface. Here are some of the surface germs that can be found on everyday surfaces:

• Influenza A can survive for up to 48 hours on a surface!
• Parainfluenza
• Noroviruses, which can survive for up to 12 hours
• Rhinoviruses (the common cold)
• E Coli and Salmonella, which are common food borne bacteria
• Staphylococcus aureu, which can survive for up to 1 day on certain surfaces like plastic or cotton!
• Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) which can survive for weeks or months
• Vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE)  which can survive for several days

iFork is the perfect choice for the family who wants to stay healthy:

• Available in both a plastic and handcrafted stainless steel option
• Keeps surface germs away from your mouth, meaning less colds and flus!
• Keeps surfaces clean, avoiding timely cleanup and cross contamination from food to surfaces
• Available at Walmart beginning July 4th! Get a 51-piece plastic combo set for only $3.98 at select stores!

Kyle Donovan never really liking his utensils touching tables at restaurants, but he was particularly made aware of the uncleanliness of this practice one day while dining outside and watching a bird land on his table. Initially finding the bird amusing, he soon realized that there was a lot more on that table than just his eating utensils! After consulting with a doctor and receiving the disturbing news that not only are there germs and bacteria all over most eating surfaces, but that some can even live for 48 hours, he knew he needed to do something about it. His solution is the patented line of intelligently designed flatware iFork that keeps your utensils clean and helps you rise above the surface!
