&pizza Officially Takes Over Interstate 270 with 13th Location in North Bethesda
Blame &pizza for all the traffic on the 270. Bethesda. Gaithersburg. Germantown. And now North Bethesda. Call it the good eats corridor.
&pizza, the first Washington, DC-based fast casual pizza company known for its trademark ampersand, gourmet handmade pies, inventive flavor combinations, localized store design, and dedication to their local community will open its fourth Maryland location Friday, June 12, in North Bethesda.
This, the brand’s 13th location in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area is a part of Pike & Rose, a 24-acre suburban mixed-use development where Montrose Road and Rockville Pike meet. Pike & Rose was established on the concept of inspiring the community through the arts. Only fitting, then, that &pizza sets its feet firmly in the concrete. The North Bethesda store will reflect that sentiment in its design: a large graphic pattern of glyphs meaning explore, connect and transform adorns the walls while huge communal wood tables bring guests together over a shared experience. In total, &pizza North Bethesda is 1500 square feet and boasts 44 seats plus a patio for al fresco dining.
North Bethesda is the newest neighborhood to welcome &pizza, the latest in a flurry of new openings and product launches. Of the rapid growth and new shop, &pizza President and CEO Michael Lastoria says, “Maryland has been incredibly supportive of &pizza and we are excited to be apart of the Pike & Rose community. The project’s motto is to create a place where everything and everyone can come together, an idea that our brand was built on.”
That idea is largely communicated through the brand’s charity arm, &CHARITY, which comes with &pizza wherever it goes, and is now looking for causes to get behind in the North Bethesda area.
The brand also recently introduced gluten-free dough and signature salads to all of its stores and offers the &pizza rewards app, giving loyal fans of the brand pieces of &pizza swag, and, for those truly loyal few, ampersand tattoos... in real ink.
The new location is at 11626 Old Georgetown Road. Hours of operation are 11 AM - 11 PM Sunday - Thursday and 11 AM to midnight, Friday and Saturday.
