Dad Can Satisfy His Hunger with Dishes from the Wood-Fired Grill
On Sunday, June 21, 2015, MET Bethesda, known for its American fare, will celebrate Father's Day with two man-hungry specials. Exclusively during brunch service Dads can enjoy a Surf & Turf Benedict, beef filet, Maine lobster and poached egg, served on an English muffin with hollandaise and potatoes for $28 per person (excluding tax and gratuity.) Then, during brunch and dinner, a 42 oz. Prime Bone-In Ribeye that serves two people along with two one-and-a-half pound grilled Maine lobster, served with bacon wrapped scalloped potatoes and Brussels sprout slaw will be available and priced at $49 per person (excluding tax and gratuity.) These specials are available in addition to the restaurants a la carte brunch and dinner menus.
Known for its American fare cooked over an open wood-fired grill, Met Bethesda is both earthy and sophisticated, and the menu incorporates simple, fresh, high quality ingredients in every dish. Additional menu items that Dad will fancy are Hand-Cut Buttermilk Biscuits with honey-maple butter, and Sidell’s signature Chicken Parmigiana - imagine Chicken Parmigiana disguised as a pizza - a generous 24 oz serving with 12-hour tomato sauce, served with a three cheese, mini Caesar salad. A selection of steaks from the wood-burning grill is also available and includes Prime Skirt Steak; Filet Mignon and a New York Strip. Each is served with Met hash browns and a Brussels sprout slaw.
The seasonal menu is complemented by Met's signature "Char Bar", small bites served over an open flame fueled by hickory and oak. Standouts include Sweet Kabocha Pumpkin with dukkah and brown sugar; Salmon Belly with torched tomato; Prime Tuna Sashimi with gochujang miso, jalapeño and yuzu; Brown Sugar Beef with scallions, cilantro and sesame seeds, as well as Chicken Thighs with a hot tangy soy glaze.
