1789 Restaurant’s Seasonal Special Reflects the Flavors of Summer at a Sensational Price

Enjoy three courses for $48 per person

1789 Restaurant in Georgetown is pleased to announce its much-anticipated annual Summer Special. Now through September 11th, Executive Chef Samuel Kim is showcasing a three-course menu for $48 per person (beverages, tax and gratuity not included). Guests are invited to select one item from the first or second course options, an entrée and a dessert by mentioning the promotion to their server. Menu selections change daily to reflect the freshest ingredients and flavors of the season and a supplement may apply to some items. Guests can take advantage of the Summer Special Sundays from 5:30-10 PM, Mondays through Thursdays, from 6 PM to 10 PM, and Fridays, from 6-11 PM. This offer is not available Saturday evenings.

Summer provides Chef Kim the opportunity to showcase farm-fresh ingredients from the bounty of the season on his ever-changing menu. Kim sources top quality products through a unique, extensive partnership with a continually evolving group of local farmers across Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and Southern Pennsylvania. Guests can experience dishes such as Summer Melon Salad with house-made ricotta, cherry tomato confit, prosciutto, baby arugula and basil oil; Chilled English Pea Soup with jumbo crab, crème fraîche and pea shoots; Squid Ink Tagliarini with squid, jumbo lump crab, jalapeño, Thai basil, Meyer lemon confit and panko breadcrumbs; Summer Squash Gâteau, golden lentils, ratatouille, goat cheese, mango-tomato compote and pea shoots; Icelandic Cod with chorizo crusted, porcini mushrooms, roasted celery heart and pickled wild ramps; and the Suckling Pig with turnip ragoût, chicharrón, morcilla sausage, baby arugula and molasses glazed peaches.


Pastry Chef Lauren Petri’s tempting dessert options include Rhubarb & Vanilla, gin-poached rhubarb, vanilla bean crémeux, brown butter powder, crispy meringue and buttermilk-rhubarb sherbet, and a Campfire Sundae, burnt marshmallow ice cream, chocolate ice cream, brownie brittle, house-made marshmallows, chocolate syrup and graham cracker waffle.
