The second annual
DC Craft Beer Festival moved to bigger quarters at Hall E of the
DC Convention Center; and while there wasn't
as much intimacy as last November's inaugural fest, there was (more importantly) no shortage of ale, beer, cider and assorted bites. Yesterday's festival featured several selections from over 75 breweries and cider makers. Armed with a commemorative 2 oz. tasting glass, I was able to ease in & out without ever
once having to wait behind someone else for a sample. To be fair, I was lucky to have VIP access (one hour before general admission to both the day and evening sessions) but there were
so many stations, with plenty of room to move about... it was almost impossible to feel crowded or rushed. My only complaint? Food offerings were
less than last year (and more expensive.) That said, I appeared to be the only one who noticed: After all, it's a
drinking event, right?
