Bruschetta, Bordeaux and a New Outdoor Bar at Maple

From our friends at Maple...

Owned by restaurant architect, Eric Gronning and his wife Lori Robertson, Maple is a charming, yet contemporary restaurant and wine bar located in DC’s Columbia Heights neighborhood. The Italian-influenced menu features an array of appetizers, salads, pastas and entrees all bursting with clean, bold flavors. Highlights include Prosciutto di Parma/Fig Spread/Gorgonzola Dolce Bruschetta, Crispy Pork Medallions with Polenta, Wilted Kale & Pork Jus and House-made Tagliatelle with Basil Pesto.

Weekend brunch at Maple is anything but ordinary. The hearty menu is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Highlights include the Short Rib Hash (Red Bliss Potatoes, Onions, Peppers & Sunny-Side-Up Eggs,) Brioche French Toast (topped with Seasonal Fruit Compote, Whipped Mascarpone Cream & Maple Syrup) and Baccala Potato Cakes (Panko-Crusted Cod and Potato Cakes served with Sunny-Side-Up Eggs and a Mixed Green Salad.) A selection of brunch cocktails including Mimosas, Bellinis and the Morning Buzz, which is made with Espresso and CafĂ© Moka Liqueur served over ice, are great accompaniments to any Maple’s weekend brunch menu.

An eclectic art collection adorns the walls of the two-level space, adding to the cool vibe of the restaurant. In addition to a sidewalk patio in front, Maple has a large outdoor dining space at the back of the restaurant. Potted greenery, overhead string lights, and brick walls gives the partially enclosed patio an "urban garden" type of feel and make it the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine or dine al fresco in the spring and summer. Earlier this month Maple unveiled a brand new bar on the patio that offers a more casual feel for those who just want to grab a drink or two. The new bar area added 15 total seats to Maple’s existing outdoor space and is already proving to be a popular addition to the restaurant.

As part of their Happy Hour, which is available Tuesday - Friday, Maple offers $1.50 off draft beers and $4 select red and white wines until 7:00 PM. Happy Hour specials are also available on Sundays on the back patio from 3-6 PM. On Mondays, customers can enjoy $3 off all Paninis; Tuesday is half-priced wine night, where select bottles are 50% off with dinner.
