DC Greens to Host Its Inaugural K Street Farm Dinner

Local chefs prepare fundraising dinner at the ‘K Street Farm’

DC Greens, an organization working to create a healthy food system in the nation’s capital, will host its first ever “K Street Farm Dinner” at its urban oasis on the corner of K Street and New Jersey Avenue, NW. The event, held on June 2, 2015, will feature some of the area’s top chefs, who’ll prepare dinner on the K Street Farm, a parcel of city land that’s managed by DC Greens, featuring locally grown produce.

What: The K Street Farm Dinner will honor local food and wine, while raising awareness for food education, food access, and food policy in the nation’s capital. Drinks at the welcome cocktail reception will be served from the farm’s potting shed, which will be transformed into a bar serving craft cocktails for the evening along with a vintage Airstream, which will serve local wine from Virginia’s Early Mountain Vineyards, which will also be served with dinner. In lieu of a silent auction, attendees will receive built in experiences with table sponsorships.

About DC Greens:
DC Greens uses the power of partnerships to support food education, food access, and food policy in the nation’s capital. We grow healthy schools, nourish communities and amplify collective impact for a healthy food system. DC Greens is working towards a city where food education is on the menu in every classroom; doctors across the city write prescriptions for fresh fruits and vegetables as a matter of course; urban agriculture is a valued element of our cityscape; and zip code doesn’t determine life expectancy. We’re working towards a city where healthy food is affordable and accessible to all. For more information visit http://dcgreens.org/.
