The Water Diviner Movie Review

Russell Crowe directs and stars in The Water Diviner

It's in the Coffee

IMDb Plot: An Australian man (Russell Crowe) travels to Turkey after the Battle of Gallipoli to try and locate his three missing sons.

Crowe's directorial debut is a testament to a father's perseverance against seemingly insurmountable odds. Connor (Crowe) is a stranger in a far-away land, whose initial plight mirrors the one in Saving Private Ryan (three sons killed in war on the same day) but there's no Tom Hanks & co. to help him. In fact, Connor has to go it (almost) alone, despite a British consul's "This is the first war anyone has given a damn." Crowe's terrific (as always) and his images of Turkey are spectacular. Drama over action. Kudos to Jai Courtney and Olga Kurylenko for strong supporting turns.
