Chipotle Announces New Sweepstakes Offering a Trip to Australia

Text-to-Win Sweepstakes Offers Cash Prizes and a Trip to Attend a 2015 Australian Tough Mudder

Chipotle Mexican Grill today announces a new, text-to-win sweepstakes offering a trip to attend a Tough Mudder event in Australia. The sweepstakes announcement comes as part of Chipotle’s previously announced national partnership with Tough Mudder.

The sweepstakes winner will receive round trip airfare for two with first class accommodations and transportation, as well as a cash prize of $2,500 and free entry into the Australian Tough Mudder event of their choice. Two first-prize winners also will be awarded free burritos for one year.

With this partnership and new sweepstakes, we are giving customers the opportunity to combine two passions: great tasting food and ultimate athletic challenges, “said Chris Arnold, communications director at Chipotle.

Chipotle was first announced as a national sponsor of Tough Mudder in January 2015. In addition to the text-to-win sweepstakes, the year-long partnership includes an on-site presence at US Tough Mudder events, where Chipotle hard and soft tacos will be sold, as well as a sponsored obstacle called “Human Hamster Wheel,” which tests how long a challenger can last on a circular set of monkey bars, with special prizes available. The Human Hamster Wheel obstacle and tacos will be available in the Mudder Village, a festival area for participants and spectators.

The text-to-win promotion will be open for entries from April 6-26, and the winner will be announced at a later date. Entry details will be available at Chipotle locations nationwide beginning today, or by texting the phrase “MUDDER1” to 888222.
