Celebrate Cherry Blossom with The Rye Bar's Yuujou Cocktail

Yuujou Cocktail

From our friends at The Rye Bar...

Celebrate Cherry Blossom with The Rye Bar's Yuujou Cocktail (priced at $16 at The Rye Bar), a creation of beloved D.C. bartender Angel Cervantes to toast this remarkable Festival. Angel was inspired to create this drink by the great friendship between Japan and D.C., and the historic planting of cherry trees in the capital city which originated in 1912 as a gift of friendship to the People of the United States from the People of Japan. The Yuujou Cocktail - yuujou translates to friendship - also contains ingredients derived from D.C. and Japan to make it doubly meaningful when enjoying this refreshing beverage.

Mix all the following ingredients well in a shaker...

•  1 oz 12 year Hibiki Japanese whiskey
•  1 oz Greenhat gin (made in DC)
•  1/4 oz Fresh lime juice
•  1/4 oz Lavender infused simple syrup
•  1/4 oz Hum Liquore
•  1 Egg white

Pour 1 oz of water into a cup and let it freeze it. Pour the drink mixture over the ice. Shake it all together and let the foam rise to the top. Then garnish with a Cherry Blossom flower and you have your own ideal beverage to toast the Cherry Blossom season!
